| These six artists, from the
Noblesville area, get together to paint and encourage one
another. It is not unusual for artists to meet and paint
together, but Group 6 goes a step further. The artists
work collaboratively on a single painting, with each member
doing one-sixth of the painting in his or her own style.
Beginning with photographs of possible subjects, the artists
discuss and agree upon one in terms of concept and size.
They then create a drawing and separate it into six sections.
Larger pieces may have six canvases which are painted
individually. The artists then assemble all the sections
and paint together, making any adjustments needed, for a smooth
transition to one finished piece of art. Smaller works are
done on a single canvas divided into six sections. Usually
everyone gets along and shares the creative energy. A
finished painting contains the personality and character of each
artist. |
