More Items of Interest about A. Taylor-Salisbury

Like many artists, Toni normally has a camera with her to snap photographs of an unusual bird or plant or a beautiful sunrise, cloud formation or landscape.  She takes her camera in her kayak and has access to wildlife that might be startled by a noisier means of transportation.  She posts her photos on a web site and uses them as inspiration for drawings or paintings.

Toni's artwork is diverse.  She draws in pencil and ink, paints in watercolor and oil, and has created wire sculptures of a knight and a dragon.  She has also painted a shower curtain, shoes, stools, a table and a number of murals.  To accompany a mural of a secluded beach scene, she painted palm fronds on the ceiling fan blades and a macaw perched on the door frame.  Her nieces bedroom wall has a group of wild and domestic animals that are realistic looking without being frightening

While Toni was attending Ball Sate University, she went and kayaking with friends, and was hooked.  She used a spare kayak until her very good friends gave her a kayak for graduation.  She enjoyed it while she could, but as she only had a temporary carrier on top of her car, she was unable to take it to Louisiana with her.  This was remedied when one of her friends came to visit.  The kayak was delivered, along with a health dose of safety reminders.  Toni also enjoys hiking and wilderness camping.
